EVENT: Mother’s Day Event
DATE: May 11, 2003
LOCATION: Crystal Palace - Queens, NY
DETAILS: AAWO’s annual Mother’s Day celebration brought together well-known artists such as Aurela Gace, Gezim Nika, Emine Hasimi, Kino Gara and well-known belly dancer Ervin Spahiu who all performed for an audience of more than 300 people. We honored Lule Lucaj Lane, a tireless Albanian-American activist from Michigan, as Mother of the Year, and Rose Dosti, a noted journalist, as Woman of the Year. This year we also honored Vace Zela with a life-time achievement award for her extraordinary musical talent and her perseverance in being a positive and inspiring role model to Albanian women living all over the world. |
