Mimoza Necaj was born and raised in born Tirana, Albania. She holds B.S. degrees in Political Economic Science and Journalism from the University of Tirana, Albania, 1983. She was a professor of Political Economics at the University of Tirana, Albania, 1984 – 1988, as well as a journalist at Radio Tirana (Department of Foreign Languages ), 1984 -1990. Ms. Necaj served as a member of the Albanian Mission to the UN, 1991-1993. She was a manager for Jones New York, 1994 - 1998. She worked as a case manager for Kosovar refugees at the New York Association for New Americans (NYANA), 1999-2000.
Since 2000 she has been the Business Manager at the Thurnauer School of Music at the JCC on the Palisades.
 
Lule Pula is an active Board member and wholehearted supporter of AAWO’s work. Lule is an architect and former professor of architecture at the University of Prishtina, Kosova. She presently lives in New York City.  
Teuta Pula is an active AAWO Board member. A freelance painter, she holds BA degrees in Painting and Graphic Design from the University of Prishtina, Kosova. She has extensive experience working with non-governmental multi-cultural programs, managing an art gallery, and teaching drawing to children.  
Kathy Selimaj is from the Guci region of Montenegro. Kathy brings to AAWO extensive business experience, which she acquired through running a number of small businesses that she co-owns with her husband, Bruno Selimaj. Kathy advocates on behalf of Albanian women’s rights, contributes regularly to the enhancement of AAWO’s projects, and helps to organize successful fundraising events at AAWO. For her dedication to the Albanian community in New York and her hard work to help the Kosovar Albanians during the Kosovar Crisis 1997-1999, the Albanian community named Kathy Woman of the Year.
